We hold recovery groups daily Tuesday-Friday, 11:00-1:00 that focus on community building, harm reduction, and the journey of recovery for our customers. While our peer support specialist creates groups specific to the journey of recovery, our customers also truly benefit from the experience and stories of community members who have also gone through the journey of recovery. 

We welcome anyone with a lived experience or recovery story to participate in our recovery groups to share their experience with our customers.

This group leadership could be a one-time leadership, reoccur monthly, or reoccur weekly!

Help our kitchen crew prepare Fork & Spoon’s evening dinner! We serve over 100 people every Monday - Friday & our kitchen crew needs some help with cutting, peeling, dicing, mixing etc. 

Minimum age is 18.

We would love to have a bimonthly commitment at least, if not every week.

kidsLINK Out of School programs is a Youth Success initiative of Greater Gallatin United Way.  Providing out-of-schooltime care for children across south west Montana for over 25 years, Greater Gallatin United Way invests in working families.  

Please join us in restocking in preparation for morning open-store hours!

Tasks involve restocking shelves, dairy coolers, freezers, and bread shelves. This is a fast-paced restock! 

Please only sign up if you are healthy and free of injury. If you cannot attend a shift you have registered for, please unregister to open your spot to someone else. Refrain from arriving early for your shift and let the Volunteer Coordinator know if you are going to be late! All attendees must be registered on this scheduling site. This shift takes place in the Gallatin Valley Food Bank at HRDC's Market Place, located at 206 East Griffin Drive. You may enter on the South side of the building through the door beneath the Donation Portico. Ring the bell and someone will let you in.

The first week of each month we have 3 delivery routes that deliver food boxes to people without transportation. We need someone to call each of these customers to let them know when their food will arrive.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), known at the Food Bank
as Senior Groceries, provides nutritious foods to senior households with an income at
or below 130% of the federal poverty threshold (for example: $1,883 for a household of one
and $2,555 for a household of two).  Each eligible senior is provided with extra
groceries each month including staple food items such as canned fruit and
vegetables, grains, dairy products, proteins, cereal, and juice. We utilize 30 different
volunteer delivery routes to get all this food to our clients.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old and complete a DMV and background check in order to volunteer. Due to the cost of these checks, and the importance of developing relationships with the delivery clients, a 6-month minimum commitment is required in this position. 

Each client’s delivery weighs approximately 28 lbs.

kidsLINK Out of School Programs are a Youth Success initiative of Greater Gallatin United Way.  Providing out-of-school time care for children across southwest Montana for over 25 years, Greater Gallatin United Way invests in working families.  

Volunteers work alongside staff members to answer our local crisis line, 211, and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Our volunteers are VITAL to the work we do. We provide training to prepare you on a variety of topics including active listening, crisis and suicide intervention, resource connection, and so much more!

To be considered, you must be able to commit to volunteering with us for 9 months and a weekly 4-hour shift at the Help Center (located in Bozeman).

Ideal for someone who enjoys seeing a task through to completion and doesn’t mind standing for long periods of time. This volunteer takes initiative, is detail-oriented, can turn over rooms and assist with restocking supplies.

Volunteers provide comfort and non-medical services for patients and their visitors in the emergency department. Volunteers also assist with room turnover and restocking supplies.

Ideal for someone who thrives in a setting where anything can happen. The ED is unpredictable. It can be incredibly quiet or organized chaos. Not for the squeamish types.  This volunteer takes initiative, is detail-oriented, enjoys the unknown, can turn over rooms and assist with restocking supplies.

Volunteer shifts are seven days a week, 8 AM - Noon / Noon – 4 PM / 4 – 8 PM / 8 - Midnight

Delivering meals for seniors who are homebound. Taking cold meal bag and hot meal bag delivery routes in Livingston on as needed basis. 

A Social Media Volunteer in needed for the Manhattan Senior Center.  This is crucial to help inform older adults of services and activities to benefit their well-being.  Social media content is important to develop community awareness and support of the Manhattan Senior Center.  The Social Media Volunteer will create written, photographic and video content in conjunction with the Executive Director.  Please contact us for more information, thanks!!

Help support the nutrition and well-being of older adults in Manhattan.  A volunteer is need to pick up food items at the Headwaters Area Food Bank in Three Forks.   These needed items will be used to prepare on site meals at the Manhattan Senior Center and for the Meals-On-Wheels program.  The volunteer would need to drive their own vehicle to pick up items from the Food Bank and then bring then back to the Manhattan Senior Center.  Volunteering once or twice a month would be very helpful.  Please contact us for more information, thanks!

Help seniors improve their physical health and contribute to their social and emotional well-being by leading a walking group.  Meet seniors at a designated location and begin walking along the quiet streets of Manhattan or along a designated walk/bike path.  A fifteen and thirty minute route can be mapped out to fit the need of individuals.  

Help seniors to continue to live at their home by completing a home or yard project.  A small group could paint interior or exterior of the home, clean up landscaping and mow the yard, or other specified project.  The needed number of volunteers needed would depend on the project.  Needed materials and equipment may need to be donated by the volunteer group.   

Gardening in pots on a porch or in a yard plot is a great activity for seniors!  Come hold a one-time or occasional class on how to plant and care for garden plants.  This would be held at the Manhattan Senior Center and materials may be provided by the Center for the participants.  

Help the physical and social well-being of seniors!  Lead seniors in light stretching and physical activity.  This could be a "chair" activity or a more extensive activity in an open area.  Help encourage seniors and provide information so seniors can continue these exercises at home.  This will benefit the seniors physical and social well-being as they are able to participate and engage in more social and community activities.  Helping seniors focus on their physical well-being can help alleviate certain medical issues they may have.  The classes will be held at the Manhattan Senior Center.

Help seniors navigate the ever changing media of social platforms and how to utilize a smart phone and personal computer.  This will help seniors connect with family members, friends, their community and find beneficial resources.  Another aspect of help would be to advise them on avoiding digital scams. This can be a one-time workshop or a recurring one to occasionally readdress this need and answer any questions. 

Help benefit the social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of seniors!  Come lead a small group of seniors in a fun and engaging activity that you are experienced in.  This could include a fun group game, an art activity such as water coloring, or come perform music for the seniors to enjoy.  

Provide a critical overview and resources for seniors regarding their later in life care and end of life concerns.  Conduct one or a recurring workshop for seniors for estate planning.  Possibly covering managing personal living wills and advance directives, wills, trusts, inheritance taxes for beneficiaries, avoiding probate, etc.  

Ideally, this volunteer will arrive at the Senior Center at 9:30am and finish volunteering by 1:00pm.  This volunteer will be helping with Meals-On-Wheels preparation and packing, as well as, preparation, serving, and cleaning after the on site congregate meal.  This position can be shortened from 9:30am to 11:00am to accommodate a volunteer's schedule.

This volunteer will arrive at the Senior Center AT 10:45 to pick up the meals that are packed to go and the Driver's sheet for the day.   The time it take to deliver the meals depends on the number of seniors receiving meals, but it should take between and hour to an hour and 1/2.  Delivery cartons are returned to the Senior Center.   

Befrienders is always looking for dedicated volunteers to be paired with lonely senior citizens in the Gallatin Valley. Big Application

Montana Fair Housing responds to inquiries and discriminatory housing complaints, and provides information and support to consumers and industry representatives. MFH investigates allegations of discrimination in housing, counsels victims of discrimination, and facilitates the complaint process. To investigate allegations of housing discrimination, MFH often engages in the process of testing.

Testing is a simulated housing transaction conducted by volunteers and coordinated by MFH staff. Testers must attend a training prior to participating in the testing program.

Testing participants must remain objective throughout the testing process. To assist the organization in reaching objective results, individuals participating in Montana Fair Housing’s testing program cannot have been employed by any housing provider for a period of at least one year, nor have been licensed as a housing provider during the same time period. Persons with a felony and/or perjury conviction cannot serve as testers.

Montana Fair Housing relies on testers to investigate allegations of housing discrimination across the state. Testing results often provide the only concrete evidence that discrimination has in fact occurred, or failed to occur, at the time of
testing.

This is a high security area. Volunteers act as gate-keepers, greeting and verifying patient and visitor information. They will also answer phones and any patient and/or visitor questions.

Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys a quiet setting, and doesn’t mind sitting for long periods of time.

We need a volunteer to make calls to our senior grocery participants, reminding them to pick up their groceries on a monthly basis. This shift will take place at the GVFB lobby, located at 206 E. Griffin ave. 

Volunteers give support to families and friends waiting for patients in surgery and serve as a liaison between families, surgical staff, and physicians.

Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, empathetic, a good listener, and can take charge.

Do you have a love of social media and connecting with those around you?  We are looking for someone to help us let our community know what we're up to with newsletters, facebook and instagram.  

The Photographer takes pictures of children, class events and community scenes for the children to use as a basis for creating literature and for posting in the classroom setting (i.e. on bulletin boards). As children begin to make meaningful connections between pictures and words, pictures can be used to reinforce the relationship. Children can dictate stories and make books using cut-out pictures for illustrations.

Volunteers are critical to the success of Early Head Start. The participation of volunteers has been an effective way of mobilizing community resources to strengthen services. Volunteers can be professionals and non-professionals. Parents can become volunteers and learn more about child development training and potential employment opportunities. Volunteers can assist with classroom activities, the upkeep and renovation of the centers and the playground, and other similar tasks. Volunteers may choose to give a few hours of their time and may volunteer every week.

Hospice volunteers provide a variety of direct and indirect support services. Choose a role in which you feel comfortable and fulfilled. A small investment of your time makes a BIG difference in the lives of those you touch. Free training is available. 

MOSS is in need of a caretaker/custodian to help maintain our office so that it remains clean and tidy.

Ideally we would like a time commitment of 1-2 hours per week, on the same day each week. 1-2 hours per month would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities include vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, organizing shelves, and cleaning the bathroom. If you are interested in helping with some but not all of these responsibilities, we are very flexible! 

MOSS's menagerie of Ambassador Animals requires a substantial amount of care. We are looking for individuals who are willing to come to the MOSS office out at our office on the shared Bozeman Fish Technology campus to care for our critters. Volunteers must be willing to handle various reptiles, including corn snakes and a bearded dragon, have good initiative and be reliable. 

We are looking for some community members to join our board. We meet quarterly. We are also a working board. Our community services includes but is not limited to, a Golf Scramble, and Toy distribution. 

Ticket sellers are responsible for selling tickets for productions, including season subscriptions and individual tickets. Ticket sellers must have strong attention to details and good people skills. Opera performances are in April and October, with a winter musical in February.  Ticket sales volunteers need to work the six weeks prior to shows.

Tasks performed include, but are not limited to:

*Sell tickets to walk-in and telephone patrons either on computer or using paper form.

* Help with mailings of brochures, newsletters and tickets.

*Answer and make Opera telephone calls.

*Sell tickets at venue.

*Update database.

*Work regular shift in the office six weeks prior to the performances (hours vary; generally needed between 10-2 M-F)

*Ticket Sales on the days of the performances

The Ticket Sales Coordinator is responsible for organizing, training, and overseeing volunteers to work in the ticket office prior to productions. Opera performances are in April and October. Musical is in February. Ticket coordinator needs to work the six weeks leading up to performances.

Fantastic opportunity to work closely with national and local opera artists in creating their character through hair and makeup! Knowledge of stage makeup and hair styles helpful.  Great opportunity to enhance your skills in this exciting arena! MOSS is in need of IT support for our office.  This would include things such as troubleshooting and solving IT issues, fixing printers, programming office phones, fixing scanners, improving computer speed and efficiency, and any other technical issues that may arise.  

We would like to be able to contact a volunteer when we have an issue to troubleshoot over the phone, or to schedule a time that works for them to come take a look and try to fix it.

Ushers are responsible for greeting and assisting patrons to their seats, distributing programs, and dealing with problems during performances.

Ushers will have complimentary tickets, being seated by the doors so that they can assist patrons and can be seated when tasks are complete.

Ushers report to Head Usher.

Must be able to greet and converse with patrons, walk safely in dim lighting and up and down stairs.

Monitor exits and entrances during performance.

Opera performances are in May and October, with a winter musical in February.

Work with the coordinator to set-up and maintain hospitality room and greet/assist patrons. You are Intermountain Opera Bozeman for these patrons. Opera performances are in May and October.

Duties include but not limited to:

*Set up tables, music and room

*Set out beverages and food, rearrange and refill as needed

*Take coats before and return after productions

*Arrange seating as needed

*Clean room after performance

*Work with other volunteers

This volunteer is responsible for delivering posters to local sites (list is available) to announce the upcoming opera production or event. This may require some walking or driving to locations. Help Intermountain Opera spread the word about our exciting season of Opera!

The Bozeman Senior Center offers a Foot Clinic on the 3rd & 4th Monday of each month for individuals unable to trim their own toe nails. The service is administered by active or retired volunteer nurses.

The Foot Clinic is offered from 9am-3pm. We offer a morning (8:45am – noon) or afternoon shift 12:45pm – 3:30pm) for nurses. We are also flexible if volunteers are only available for a partial shift. We’d love to have you even just for one shift per month or every other month.

This is a great way to give back to the community.  Please consider volunteering your time and helping our Foot Clinic continue on for years to come!

The Area Management Team acts as a 'mini' Board of Directors for a specific geographic area in Montana. Each person on the Area Management Team holds a title and is responsible for various activities that help support athletes, teams and other volunteers participating in Special Olympics Montana in their local community. The Big Sky Area is currenty looking for volunteers to fill the following positions: Area Director, Technology Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator.

For just a few hours a couple of times a month, you can help a child succeed. Big Brothers
Big Sisters is different from other mentoring organizations in that we seek volunteers who
are committed and consistent, willing to serve at least a year, but we hope until a child
graduates high school. It’s what makes our programs successful, helping kids who face
adversity beat the odds. Professional staff are there to work with you, the child and the
family throughout the course of the mentoring relationship to provide necessary training
and support. Funding allows us to carefully make and support more matches. We are
grateful for your willingness to be involved and while it is certainly not a requirement, we
welcome you to also become a donor – as you volunteer or wait to be matched.
