Family members or loved ones are usually the primary caregivers for the hospice patient. Their focus is on providing care, love, and support to the patient, while also keeping up with household needs and other daily activities. At times, this can be overwhelming.

Our volunteers are carefully screened and extensively trained. Hospice volunteers offer the following support to hospice patients and families:

One-on-one companionship Reading to patients Sharing life stories Respite for family Veteran-to-veteran companionship Provide intermittent respite to families/caregivers Read and actively listen to patients. Run errands, grocery shopping, laundry, light housekeeping, prepare meals, walk pets, etc. Assist with writing memoirs and capturing your life story Socialize with patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities
