Enhabit Hospice is looking for individuals who can offer patient and family support through in-person visits. Volunteers can visit with patients in their home setting, provide companionship by listening to patients' stories and engaging in their interests, help our hospice team understand the needs of the patient and family, provide respite time for the patient's primary caregiver, and sit with patients and their loved ones in the last 24 or 48 hours of life. 

While volunteer support may vary due to individual patient and family needs, all volunteer services are non-medical in nature.

No experience with hospice? No problem! In our orientation process, we will educate you on our goals and values so you can work with our team to bring the best care and comfort possible to our patients.

Do you have a well-behaved, groomed pet who is comfortable around strangers?

Enhabit Hospice is looking for individuals who can take our services to the next level by taking a furry friend along with them to visit our patients and their families. This can include (but is not limited to) visiting with patients in their home setting, providing companionship by listening to patient's stories and engaging in their interests, helping our hospice team understand the needs of the patient and family, and - of course - brightening everyone's day with your pet!

Do you enjoy blessing others through the enjoyment of art?

Enhabit Hospice is looking for individuals who want to use their artistic talents to bring joy and beauty into our patient's lives through in-person visits. Bring your sketch pad, paint, or other art materials to the patient so they can watch as you create something beautiful for them.

This opportunity may also include visiting with patients, providing companionship by listening to patient's stories and engaging in their interests, and helping our hospice team understand the needs of the patient and family.

Do you play an instrument? Do you enjoy sharing music with others?

Enhabit Hospice is looking for individuals who want to use their musical talents to bring joy into our patient's lives through in-person visits. Bring your guitar, ukulele, or other musical instrument to the patient in their home setting to engage with them over shared live music.

This opportunity may also include visiting with patients, providing companionship by listening to patient's stories and engaging in their interests, and helping our hospice team understand the needs of the patient and family.

Enhabit Hospice is looking for individuals who can offer support through administrative tasks at our local office.

Volunteers can make weekly tuck-in calls to our patients to ensure supply and medication needs are covered, assemble letters to be sent out to support grieving families, assisting in the planning and implementation of our annual memorial event, and help with other office needs as they arise.
