Who We Are
Mission: To guide schools and communities in building a prosperous local food culture that places healthy food on the plates and in the minds of all Park County children and their families.
Farm to School of Park County was founded in 2018 to expand the Livingston Farm to School program, which was started in 2008. Initially created by local parents and educators to promote healthy eating habits for children in Livingston Public Schools, we now serve students and families across Park County with a wide array of programs. We connect communities with fresh, local food through farm-fresh meals, nutrition education and hands-on learning in school gardens and farms.
What We Do
Farm to School of Park County achieves its mission by connecting schools and communities with fresh, local, and healthy food. Through the “Farm Fresh Meals” program, we help schools provide locally sourced, scratch-cooked meals. Our “K-12 Education Enrichment” program teaches students about food origins, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture through hands-on lessons in gardens and public school classrooms.
We also build and maintain a network of “Learning Farms and Gardens,” outdoor learning spaces where students and families grow and harvest fresh food that goes directly back into school meal programs.
